Shias stage countywide protests against arrest of Shia in twin cities

Shia Muslims staged protest rallies and demonstrations in all over Pakistan to denounce the pro takfiri biased PMLN government for witch-hunt against peaceful and law-abiding Shiites in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Demonstrations and rallies were staged in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Sheikhu Pura, Nankana Sahib, Gujranwala, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujrat, Attock, Jehlum, Multan, Jhang, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawal Nagar, Rajanpur, Hafizabad, Khanewal, in Punjab, Quetta and others parts in Balochistan, Karachi and Sindh interior districts, and in Gilgit-Baltistan and in other parts. Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organisation gave a joint call for the protest.

“Takfiri nasbi terrorists target innocent people but they are free to do so while innocent Shia Muslims who oppose the terrorism and extremism, have been detained to please the takfiris,” said Maulana Zaigham Abbas of the MWM speaking to the protestors at the main rally in Rawalpindi.

Tahwar Abbas, President of the ISO, said that it was the only sin of the Shia Muslims that they detest fanaticism, extremism and terrorism.

“We warn the government to beware of the consequences of the crackdown on innocent peace-loving Shia Muslims. If the detained Shiites are not arrested forthwith, we shall begin staging sit-in on Ashura and Ashura processions will not end before the release of Shia youths held without any justification,” he warned.
