SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Sadeq Rouhani answered a question about sports or games which cause harm to animals.
Question: Bozkashi is the sport where riders on horses follow the live animal (like a goat) aiming to catch and drop it in a particular spot which in many cases animals die. What is the ruling about these games which in many cases animal die?
The Grand Ayatollah Rouhani: In our opinion, these types of sports which cause harm to animals, are not allowed.
