Thanksgiving prostration

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Hisham ibn Ahmar who said: We were riding with Imam Kazim (AS) outside Medina. Imam (AS) dismounted and placed his forehead on the earth and performed a lengthy prostration. When he finished and mounted his horse, I said: Your prostration was so long? Imam Kazim (AS) replied: Yes; whenever I remember a blessing which has been granted to me by God, I like to give thanks for it this way [1]. It is also narrated from Imam Sadeq (AS) who said: Whenever God grants you a blessing, perform two Rok’ats of Salaat, and when bowing and in prostration, in the first Rok’at say: (Alhamdullelah Shokran wa Hamda); Thanks and praise are due to Allah (SWT) who is worthy of worship; and in second Rok’at say: (Alhamdullelah, Al-Ladhy Istajaba duaeie wa A’atani Mas’alati) Thanks to Allah (SWT) who accepted my Dua and granted my request [2].
