The best attitude towards this world

SHAFAQNA – Allah (SWT) has never asked people to abandon this world but warned human being not to fall in love with it and not to be deceived by the world. The aim is to remind people that compared with the worldly enjoyments; there are much better enjoyments in the hereafter. This does not mean that the world should be abandoned, otherwise why Allah (SWT) created all these blessings for this world?

Ayah 32 of Surah Al-A’araaf says: “Say: Who hath forbidden the beautiful God’s ornaments (gifts) which have been produced for God’s servants, and the clean sustenance? Say: They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe and exclusive to them on the Day of Judgment, thus God explains the signs in detail for those who understand.”

The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said: The world is sweet and likable, whoever earns in Halal ways and spends justly, Allah (SWT) will reward him/her and place them in paradise; and whoever earns in Haram ways and spends unjustly, God will send him/her to hell [1]. Therefore, the main point is that no one should abandon the world and its blessings but to utilise God’s gifts in proper manner.
