The danger of moral collapse and death of the supreme values according to the Supreme Religious Authority

SHAFAQNA- Alkafeel: The Supreme Religious Authority: If we do not find an active and rapid reaction to the dangers we are leaving such as misinformation, lies and deception, it foreshadows the moral collapse and death of the supreme values and principles and the human conscience.

The Supreme Religious Authority has shown that we live in an era of deceit, lies and misinformation. And that the most dangerous of this misinformation is media, ideological and political lying. Also, fraud, exploitation, luck of trust, murder and displacement is spread among clan members for trivial reasons, as well as selling positions and buying votes with money. In addition to the deviated relations among our youth using some practices that are unacceptable morally and publicly.

When such practices are spread and the enjoining good and forbidding wrong is absent, then things will turn to their opposite and the right will become falsehood. Then if we do not find an active and rapid reaction to address these dangers, the spread of such things foreshadows the moral collapse and death of the supreme values and principles and the human conscience.

These were the important points stated in the second sermon of Friday Prayer of the 2nd of Safar 1440 AH corresponding to October 21, 2018, which was held in the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), led by his eminence Sheikh Abd al-Mahdi al-Karbala’i, in which he stated:
Dear brothers and sisters, we are still in the holy months of Muharram and Safar talking about what we should learn from the reform movement of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
Among the important reforms that Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) wanted to achieve through his revolution and principles is (moral and educational reform of the individual and society).
Here, brothers and sisters, we ask the question:
What is the importance of moral and educational process in the individual and society?
Dear brothers and sisters, there is a point in our imbalance as an individual, a society and even a lot of institutions. What is our assessment and attention to the educational and moral process?
We have the process of academic education, the process of specialized education in the various specialties, and there we have the process of education and ethics. My brothers, I will show the sensitivity and seriousness of the moral and educational process in the community in two aspects:
Human beings have many scientific and economic energies and potentials and wealth and many other things. These energies and potentials if not directed according to a moral and educational right, we cannot make them reach and achieve the goal in life, which is happiness, stability, comfort and integration of the person and to perform the important function in this life.
All of us now as an individual and as a society we have these multiple energies. How do we direct them? How do we employ them? How do we use them to reach building and achieve good, stability and happiness in society? This does not come from purely pure science, which comes not from the energies alone, but from the potential of man, from the sciences, cultures and abilities without the existence of moral and educational controls that can not direct and employ these energies and abilities to build the happy and stable life that man seeks. Therefore we see many of those who have developed sciences and a lot of ideas and cultures are the source of evil and resentment on society rather than be a source of good.
A social person in a sense that can not live alone needs to meet and co-exist and to mix with others in order to be able to perform his job in life, this meeting and coexistence between the individual and others arises from socio-economic, political and intellectual relations. These relations if not joined on the basis of moral and educational will not be natural, regular and stable. The nature of these relations must lead to harmony, familiarity, affection and cooperation, so that we can achieve the goal and reach the goals that we desire, without that these relations prevail, hostility, hatred, and conflict. Therefore, we have socio-economic and political-intellectual relations that must have determinants, controls and restrictions through which we can use these relations to build the right life for the individual and society.
And that the most dangerous of this misinformation is media, ideological and political lying. Also, fraud, exploitation, luck of trust, murder and displacement is spread among clan members for trivial reasons, as well as selling positions and buying votes with money. In addition to the deviated relations among our youth using some practices that are unacceptable morally and publically. And when we see our country is plagued by waves of financial and administrative corruption and mismanagement and take the phenomena of moral corruption spread among young men and women due to abuse of social communication systems and others, which leads to the spread of these things of the phenomena of moral corruption. The citizen does not find in many cases only to pay money forced to carry out his affairs and transactions in many departments of the state.
And the process of education in our schools and universities are not accompanied by the process of interest in the process of education and ethics, attention and care of teaching specialized academic sciences which are required as without them we can not develop and flourish our lives, but the unfortunately this is absent in our school, universities, institutions and other bodies involved in these matters.
It is very important if every people wants to settle and develop. This society is humane in every sense of humanity. There must be synchronization and accompaniment between the specialized academic educational process and the moral educational process, and we are interested in the process of learning these sciences, cultures and knowledge as much as possible. There is interest and attention to the ethical educational process of the individual and society.
Then these serious matters, which we have shown in the presence of reasons that may lead to moral and ethical collapse in society, these serious issues call for extensive social, governmental and media action and mobilization of all energies and potentials to preserve the values of the Iraqi society and its maintenance of ethical deviations that warn of serious current and future consequences.
What are the reasons in the absence of these moral values and commitment principle to the society?
There are reasons to be mentioned and then we recall what is the approach of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in the process of moral reform. God willing, we will discuss it in the coming speeches.
We ask Allah to help us to reform ourselves and our society morally and culturally and to follow the path of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
