The day of regret

SHAFAQNA – There are people who gather wealth and leave for others but they gain nothing from their efforts. They will regret On the Day of Judgment that they were not able to use the wealth they gathered for their own benefit and hence wish to return to the world but it will not be possible. AS is mentioned in Ayah 167 of Surah Al-Baqarah; “Thus Allah (SWT) will show the result of their deeds as nothing but regret.”

Commenting on this Ayah, Imam Sadeq (AS) said: This Ayah is about someone who leaves behind wealth, and because he was stingy, did not spend his wealth in the way of God. After his death, his wealth will be left to those who spend it either in the way of God or in the wrong ways. Imam Sadeq (AS) added: If the inheritors spend his wealth in the way of obedience of God, they will benefit more from their deeds and the one who left the wealth will be left with regret because he was not able to benefit from his wealth. If the inheritors spend his wealth in sinful ways, leading them into committing more sins will cause more regret for the one who left the wealth for them [1].
