The Grand Ayatollah Hakim answered a question about divorcing a woman who has hidden her pregnancy

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Hakim answered a question about divorcing a woman who has hidden her pregnancy at the time of being divorced.

Question: A woman who was divorced according to the religious laws and was pregnant at the time, has hidden her pregnancy from the religious authority; is this divorce correct or not?

The Grand Ayatollah Hakim: To hide her pregnancy does not harm the divorce; therefore, if the divorce was conducted according to all its conditions, it is correct even if she was pregnant and will come out of Eddah (necessary period for a woman to wait after her divorce before she marries again according to Sharia Laws).
