Ayatollah Khamenei answered questions about chess

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered questions regarding making, buying, selling and playing chess.

Question: What is the ruling about chess for the following cases?

  1. Making, buying and selling
  2. Playing chess with or without betting
  3. Allocating centres in public places or others for teaching, playing and encouraging people to play chess

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: If a person can determine that chess at the current time is not counted as gambling, there is no problem in making, buying, selling and playing it without betting. Also considering the above condition there is no problem with teaching it.

Aslam o alekum,
Remember bro, Halal e Masoom is Halal and Haram e Masoom is Haram, there is no doubt about that, but problem arises when the reference about the matter is not reliable then you need to listen to your Mujtahid. Since there is no completely authentic source on this matter Marja give their opinion in light of most authentic knowledge, they know about.
