The Grand Ayatollah Safi’s Fatwa about the conditions for compensating for something given to someone in trust

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Safi issued a Fatwa regarding conditions for compensating a depositor (the owner) who has given something to a person in trust to looked after.

The Grand Ayatollah Safi: If the thing given in trust to be looked after, is destroyed:

If the person who was looking after the thing has been careless in looking after it, must compensate for that thing given to him in trust by the depositor.

If the person who was looking after the thing has not been careless and that thing has been destroyed for example by flood, then he is not responsible and is not necessary to compensate for that thing.
