The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi’s answer to a question about doubting if an animal is alive at the time of the slaughter

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi Zanjani answered a question about doubting if an animal is alive at the time of the slaughter.

Question: A sheep is slaughtered but there is a doubt if it was alive at the time of slaughter as no movement was noticed. In order for it to be Halal, is it enough if the usual amount of blood comes out?

The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi: In the above condition where there is a doubt about life, if the animal moves after the slaughter, it is enough. But if just fresh blood comes out and the animal does not move after slaughter, it is not enough.
