SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi Zanjani answered a question regarding holding commemoration ceremonies for a dead person

Question: Is it right to hold commemoration ceremonies, to prepare food, having receptions and acts like these in the first 7 days after the passing away of a person?

The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi: Whatever action (is carried out) to respect a dead Muslim, is right. Of course lavish ceremonies and other inappropriate acts to be prevented.
