SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi Zanjani answered a question about takeover of Haram inheritance.
Question: A person who knows his father’s wealth has been gathered through Haram way; can this person inherit that Haram wealth from his father?
The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi: If the exact Haram is present, cannot takeover that, and if the exact Haram is not present, the substitute is counted as deceased’s debt and the inheritors are not allowed to take over the inheritance before paying the debt. In any condition, if they (inheritors) cannot find the owner of that (debt), can pay to charity with the permission of the Mojtahed.
