The main point of Ayah 5 of Surah Nisa

SHAFAQNA – Ismaeil the eldest son of Imam Sadeq (AS) had some money and was informed about a Quraishi man from Medina who wanted to go to Yemen. He decided to give him the money to buy some goods from there. So he consulted his father Imam Sadeq (AS), and Imam (AS) asked him: Does he drink wine? Ismaeil replied: People say so, but we do not know if it is true what people say. Imam (AS) said: It is not advisable to give him the money.

But Ismaeil gave all the money to that man to buy him goods from Yemen. The Quraishi man went to Yemen and wasted all the money. At the time of Hajj, Imam Sadeq (AS) and Ismaeil both went for pilgrimage, and Ismaeil was performing Tawaf and Imam (AS) noticed that he constantly asking God to give him something for the money he lost. Imam Sadeq (AS) put his hand on his shoulder and said: My child, do not ask God for something which you caused to happen, you have no right on God, you should not have trusted that man. Ismaeil said: People said that man drank wine, but I had not seen it!

Imam (AS) said: Trust what believers say, and do not trust the one who drinks wine, and do not give (hand over) your wealth/property to fools as is mentioned in the Quran (Ayah 5 of Surah Nisa), and which fool do you know who is lower than the one who drinks wine? Then Imam Sadeq (AS) said: The marriage proposal or intercession on behalf the person who drinks wine must not be accepted, and such person must not be trusted, because he will waste wealth/property, and such a person has no right on God, and cannot request Allah (SWT) to compensate for incurred losses [1].
