The merciful Prophet (PBUH)

SHAFAQNA – After Muslims conqured Mecca, those who carried out the worst crimes against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and his followers, were in fear of revenge by them but the Prophet (PBUH) said: I will do what Yusuf (AS) did to his oppressive brothers and like him I will say (as mentioned in Ayah 92 of Surah Al-Yusuf : “Today, let there be no reproach on you, Allah (SWT) will forgive you, and God is the most Merciful of those who show mercy.”

When that kind leader (the Prophet (PBUH)) calmed those fearful people, he added: Today is not the day for fighting and vengeance but it is the day of mercy and kindness and I forgive all your crimes and sins. Then the Prophet (PBUH) said that famous sentence: Go and live your lives because all of you are free [1]. As if all of them were re-born, they could breath, their hearts were filled with love for the Prophet (PBUH) and nearly all of them converted to Islam.
