The morality of Imam Hussain (AS)

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – It is narrated from Osama ibn Mostalaq: When I entered Medina, I saw Imam Hussain. I was amazed by his popularity and my jealousy made me to show my enmity towards him. I went near Imam Hussain (AS) and asked: Are you the son of Abu Torab? Imam Hussain (AS) replied: Yes and then I insulted him and his father. Imam Hussain (AS) looked at me kindly and said: I seek refuge to God from the satan and then recited Ayah 199 of Surah Al-A’araaf: Practice forgiveness, command decency and avoid ignorant people. Then, Imam Hussain (AS) said: Take it easy and ask forgiveness from God for myself and yourself. If you are seeking my help, I will help you and if you want anything, I will give it to you and if you want me to guide you, I will guide you. I became ashamed of my behaviour and sayings. Then Imam Hussain (AS) recited Ayah 92 of Surah Al-Yusuf: Today, there is no blame on you, God will forgive you. God is the most merciful. Seeing the morality of Imam Hussain (AS) against all those insults, I wished to be swallowed by the earth, I moved away from Imam and went inside the crowd and now, I love Imam Hussain (AS) and his father [1].
