The names of Iranian Quranic convoy members for Arbaeen announced

SHAFAQNA- Iran announced the names of Qaris and members of Tawasheeh groups who selected to hold programs for pilgrims during Arbaeen this year.

The Qaris and Tawasheeh groups form a Quranic convoy named Noor (light).

They will perform programs such as Quran recitation sessions and Tawasheeh (religious singing) for the pilgrims on their way to the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.

Hassan Mohammadi, Seyed Karim Mousavi, Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, Vahid Khazaei, Ali Shekofteh and Mehdi Tajvar are among the Quran reciters of the convoy, Iqna reported.

There are also three Tawasheeh groups in the convoy, namely al-Warethin from Alborz province, Meshkat from Khuzestan province and Thaqalayn from Yazd province.

Arbaeen comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.

In the past few years, around 20 million pilgrims from all over the world took part in the mourning ceremonies in the Iraqi holy city marking Arbaeen.

Arbaeen falls on Tuesday, October 30, this year.
