SHAFAQNA- Alkafeel:  The Supreme Religious Authority has shown that those who do not have a sense of responsibility, do not care about their affairs and do not move to change their reality, has denied Islam, as the principle of responsibility is a great principle in Islam.

These were the important points stated in the second sermon of Friday prayer of 4th of Muharram 1440 AH corresponding to September 14, 2018 in the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and was led by his eminence Sheikh Abd al-Mahdi al-Karbala’i, in which he stated:
What should we learn from the reformist movement of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)?
In other words, what does Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) want in our time and throughout the ages?
How can we really be Hussayni? What does Karbala want from us with its Hussayni character?
What should we learn from the reformist movement of Imam Hussayn (peace be upon him) in order to perpetuate the reform movement?
I explained this with an introduction and then I explain what these things are ..
It is well known that the goals of the Hussayni revolution and its reformist movement were not related to its time and place, which means that the reformist movement of Imam Hussayn (peace be upon him) and the Hussayni revolution are linked to all ages, times and places.
Because its planning, the nature of its objectives and how this revolution happened, were not a human being’s decision, but it happened by a divine plan and will. The God Almighty has shown it to the Prophet (Allah’s prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) who explained it to Imam al-Hussayni (peace be upon him). So the Almighty has planned the Hussayni revolution and indicated the nature of its goals, and al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) has executed the divine will. And the nations after him will have to suffer from tough conditions under the reign of dictators who oppress the people and do not care of the good of the Islamic nation, similar conditions in the era of the Umayyads against whom Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) has rebelled. The Almighty want that the vital principles and the Islamic virtues and morals stay alive.
The Almighty gave us the model of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and how he conducted his revolution and confronted the oppressing ruler by being steadfast and patient, not surrendering to them. And his revolutionary ad reformist movement needed great sacrifices. Therefore, this approach and of the Hussayni revolution are a model for us to follow, a beacon for us throughout ages, times and places until the day of Resurrection.
Therefore, we need some rituals so that these reformist movement remain vibrating in our hearts, such as the condolences’ councils, establishing the grief and sorrow rituals, which are important means to reach the final goal of protecting the nation of the Prophet (Allah’s prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), so we can always remember to not surrender to the corrupted and oppressing rulers following the model of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his reformist movement.
After this introduction, we can ask what are the fundamentals and foundations that make us real Hussayni?
First: The sense of individual and community responsibility in all its dimensions and the need to abide to its requirements:
Each of us has an individual and community responsibility, either towards God, my family, my society, my religion.
Second: Be aware of the importance of this sense:
Many verses of the Holy Quran and Hadiths show that the sense of responsibility is an innate matter that exists in every person since his creation. So we must use this sense of responsibility and know how to develop and protect it.
Third: Feeling responsible is not enough, we need the will towards the change and reform. Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) has narrated a Hadith of the Holy Prophet (Allah’s prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) in which he said: “He who sees a cruel governor, violating God’s laws, breaking His Covenant, acting in contract to the Tradition of the Prophet, doing mischief and intruding upon people’s rights, then does not try to change that governor through action or speech, God has promised him a suitable place in Hell”. Thus, we have to move towards a change if we have the sense of responsibility, which urges us to have the will and determination to the reform in all aspects of our life. As highlighted in the holy hadith: “Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.”
So, what are the factors that help us to have an effective and influential feeling of this overall responsibility?
1- The true and firm faith, which is represented in the education of the soul on the correct faith principles based on the love of the Almighty. To be aware of the greatness of the purpose from the creation of human.
2- Science and knowledge: To know the details and principles of the revolution of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), which are suitable with the temporal and spatial situation of the reform movement.
3- There are a set of foundations that must be respected to achieve these goals: knowing the legal, religious and social rules of the reform movement.
So it is necessary to know the outcome of the former experiences of the reformist leaders. I have to read history and study the reforms that happened before in my country and in other countries to learn from them and be able to reflect them on the present reality.
4- The clarity of vision in relation to the requirements of the current situation is an essential prerequisite for the success of any reform movement, and those who do not have the knowledge and experience of this matter have to have a reference of experts of such matters, so that the reform movement success and can achieve its goals.
And we will explain more in the next sermon.
May Allah bestow upon us the success. And, the latest of our prayers is; praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and Prayers and Allah’s Peace be upon Mohammad and his pure and immaculate Household.
