Turkish police raid media offices

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – According to reports some arrests were made on Sunday following police raids targeting Turkish media. The offices of Today’s Zaman newspaper and STV television news were raided. Media reports said arrest warrants were issued for 32 people and the Turkish broadcaster TRT Haber said 23 people were detained in nationwide raids.

Anatolia news agency reported that 12 people, including senior media figures, were detained across the country on Sunday morning “in a crackdown on alleged conspirators that plan to topple the ruling Turkish government.”
