SHAFAQNA – Participants in the 9th edition of “Rabee’ Al-Risala” International Festival in the holy city of Karbala stressed the need for understanding the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) Seerah based on the Holy Quran’s verses.

According to Noon website, the festival concluded on January 9 in a ceremony held at Imam Hassan (AS) Conference Hall of Hazrat Abbas (AS) Holy Shrine.

The two-day international program was organized by the custodianship of the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) starting from January 7 on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ja’far Sadeq (AS).

Addressing the program, Seyyed Ahmad Al-Safi, custodian of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine, stressed the necessity of introducing the character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the last prophet to the Islamic society.

He added that in order to know the great character of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) everyone should refer to the Holy Quran to avoid misunderstanding which may occur while studying other sources in this respect.

Al-Safi noted that the Holy Quran truly introduces the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and suggested that a committee should be formed to defend the Divine Book and character of the prophet of Islam.

‘Imad Al-Khafaji, representing Iraq’s Minister of Culture in the festival, stressed the importance of Islamic unity and respect to every one’s belief and point of view.

He said that despite differences in some viewpoints and beliefs, there are many commonalities among Iraqi people, they all believe in one God and one religion, and they live in one country that pays respect to the followers of all religions.
