Using electricity in fishing / the Grand Ayatollah Khamenie’s answers

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered questions about using electricity for fishing.

Question: Electricity is used for fishing in fish ponds; a) what is the ruling about eating these fish? b) What is the ruling if some of these fish die in the water by electricity and they are mixed with half-dead fish due to electric shock?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: If fish dies in the water by electricity, they are Haram. But if they are caught alive and then die outside the water, they are Halal; and if dead and Haram fish are mixed with Halal fish, and they are in small and limited amount, all of them must be avoided.
