Washington Irving: Under the blazing sun, stood the immortal Hussain

SHAFAQNA-

Washington Irving, American Author, said about Imam Hussain (a.s.), “It was possible for Hussain to save his life by submitting himself to the will of Yazid, but his responsibility as a reformer did not allow him to accept Yazid’s Caliphate. He therefore prepared to embrace all sorts discomfort and inconvenience in order to deliver Islam from the hands of the Omayyads.

Under the blazing sun, on the parched land and against the stiffing heat of Arabia, stood the immortal Hussain.”

Washington Irving was an American short story writer, essayist, biographer, historian, and diplomat of the early 19th century. He is best known for his short stories “Rip Van Winkle” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, both of which appear in his collection, The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.
