What are different forms of fasting?

SHAFAQNA – Regarding different forms of fasting, Khawjah Abdullah Ansari (RA) said: Fasting is in three forms: 1) fasting of the soul; which relates to shorten the worldly desires, 2) fasting of the wisdom; which is acting opposite the inappropriate desires, 3) fasting of the body which is to avoid eating and drinking and lusts [1].
