Question: Is it allowed to sell kidney and similar to it from body parts whether a person is in financial need or not; and what is the general rule about selling body parts?
The Grand Ayatollah Hakim: The Wajib precaution is to avoid selling body parts especially those parts which life of a person depends on them (like kidney), rather it is Haram if there is a fear that by removing the part, the health of the person will be in danger.
