What is the point of reciting Dua?

SHAFAQNA – In a letter to his eldest son Imam Hassan (AS), Imam Ali (AS) wrote: By giving you permission to recite Dua, God has placed Divine Treasures in your hands. Therefore, whenever you decide, you can recite Dua and open the gates of Divine Blessings, in order that God’s Mercy pours down on you. Never lose hope when acceptance of your Dua is delayed, because God’s Gifts are based on intention, sometimes there is a delay in acceptance of Dua, so that the rewards of the requester is increased. Sometimes you ask but there is no answer, because you will be given better than you asked for soon or in a specific time, or for the sake of giving you better than you asked, your Dua is not accepted; because if your requests are granted, it may lead to destruction of your religion. Therefore, your requests must be in ways that provide you with beauty and removes suffering and difficulty from you. So the wealth and possessions of the world will not last for you and you will not last for the wealth and possessions of the world [1].
