What is the purpose of Eidul-Fitr?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Ridha/Reza (AS) who said: The Day of Fitr has been declared as Eid in order that all Muslims come gather on this day and appear for the sake of God, and praise Allah (SWT) for Divine Blessings. Therefore, this day is the day of gathering (coming together), day of Fitr, day of Zakat, day of delight, day of pleading to God (supplication), etc. Therefore, Allah (SWT) likes Muslims on this day, gather together and praise God [1].
