SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Sistani answered questions about friendship between boys and girls.
Question: Is there a problem according to religious and Islamic rules with any relationship (friendship) between a girl and a boy? Meaning, even if both sides avoid acts which are prohibited in Islam, and their relationship is not lustful? In what form there is no problem? And if there is a problem with all the cases, what is the reason?
The Grand Ayatollah Sistani: It is not allowed if there is a fear that the person may commit a sin.
