SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Saeed Hakim answered a question when a man converts to Islam but his partner does not.

Question: I am a man in the third decade of my life and recently have converted to Islam, but my family did not convert. I have been living with my partner for 15 years and we have three children, but we have never married. Is this issue Haram from God’s view?

The Grand Ayatollah Hakim: There must be a Nikah connection between you. Without marriage intimate relationship with her is Haram.
