What is the simplest case of self-discipline?

SHAFAQNA – As long as the human being is not self-centred, that in itself is a kind of self-discipline. Meaning, not being self-centred is a kind of endeavour against the rebellious soul. It is like the person who is thirsty, and there is also water available, but has been told not to drink it; or the best food is ready but has been said not to eat it, or do not eat more than a certain amount [1].
