SHAFAQNA – Answering question number 1256 in his Resalah, the Grand Ayatollah Sobhani wrote: If the fasting person becomes so thirsty that tolerating thirst causes severe distress and constriction, in a way that there is a fear of death; in this case for protecting life, can drink water to the necessary amount and avoid eating to the end of the day, and do Qadha fasting later on by way of precaution.
