What will happen to unreliable people?

SHAFAQNA – If a person makes a promise but then breaks it with unjustified excuses is untrustworthy and such a person cannot be reliable friend or relation. It is narrated from Imam Ali (AS) who said: Do not rely on someone who is not faithful to his/her promise [1]. A human being must assess his/her abilities before making promise and if it is not possible to keep promise, must not commit himself/herself.
In this regard, Imam Hassan (AS) said: As long as a person has not made a promise, he/she is free but when a promise is made will be under obligation and until the fulfilment of his/her promise will not be freed [2]. If a person breaks his/her promise, must know that he/she will be hurt more than anyone else and will lose his/her credibility and people will lose confidence in that person. In this regard Imam Ali (AS) said: Whenever people break their promises (contract, agreement, treaty, pact), God will make them to be dominated by the enemies [3].
