Why believers should not compare their lives with wealthier people?

SHAFAQNA – Looking at the lives of others whose levels are higher (money wise), can create problems for us. Meaning, this may cause the human being to want to adjust his/her worldly life and inclinations according to the lives of others. That is why we have been advised that we should never look at those who are higher than us (financially). This is true for all financial dimensions, whether it is in gathering wealth, or being ambitious, or other worldly enjoyments. Therefore, in materialistic affairs, the human being must look at those below him/her, and see what they eat, what they wear, what kind of carpet they have in their houses, what are their houses like. The reason for this is very clear, because by looking at those who have more, the inside desires provoke the human being and revive the false inclinations in him/her [1].
