Why did the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) ask people to love Ahlul Bait (AS)?

SHAFAQNA – In Ayah 23 of Surah Al-Shora is mentioned that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “I do not want anything from you except sincere affection and kindness towards my Ahlul Bait.” Meaning, the love for Ahlul Bait (AS) is what I ask you, nothing else, I have not asked for any material rewards from you. My Ahlul Bait (AS) speak my words, they succeed me and pursue my tradition (Sunnah). Therefore, they do not do anything that is not essential. If I ask you to love and follow Ahlul Bait (AS), in fact it is to your own benefit, it is to the benefit of believers.

In another part of the above Ayah, is mentioned: “If anyone has a good deed, We shall increase it and return it to the same person.” The clear case of good deed here is the “Welayat or Welayah”. So the Welayah of Ahlul Bait (AS) is a good deed and Allah (SWT) will increase it many times which will be returned to the same human being (who follows Ahlul Bait AS)) [1].
