Why serving people is an essential characteristic of an Islamic leader?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) who said: The leader and head of any group is the servant of that group [1]. This Hadith (narration) is pointing to the fact that whoever serves his/her people, such a person is most suitable for leading his/her people. Therefore, in order to find out who is the leader of a group/tribe, we must not go after ancestry or parentage or name or titles; rather we must look and see who is serving his/her people more than others, that person is the leader.
