Winners of Arbaeen int’l award to be introduced on April 30

SHAFAQNA – Winners of the third International Arbaeen Photos and Videos Award will be announced in a ceremony on April 30.

The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) has organized the contest.

The ceremony will be held at the Iranian Academy of Arts in Tehran.

ICRO Chief Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and a number of senior officials and ambassadors of a number of foreign countries to Iran are expected to the take part in the ceremony.

ICRO annually holds the international competition to highlight different aspects of the Arbaeen pilgrimage which marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his household in Karbala.

Every year a large number of pilgrims converge on the holy city of Karbala to observe mourning rituals on Arbaeen.

In the past few years, the number was estimated to be more than 20 million.
