Yemeni forces deal heavy blow to Arab coalition

SHAFAQNA – IRNA: Yemeni army and popular committees on Saturday dealt a heavy blow to forces of Saudi-lead coalition of Arab countries in Al Jah region on the western coasts of the country, killing 58 military men.

According to Almasirah news network, the Yemeni forces consisting of army personnel and popular committees in a tactical operation cleansed Al Jah region of aggressors, killing 50 of them and taking many others captive.

In another operation, the sniper units of the army and popular committees killed eight Saudi troops in the city of Jizan near border with Yemen.

The Yemeni forces also shot down a Saudi drone in the southern province of Asir on May 31.

The missile unit affiliated to Ansarallah movement targeted the Jizan military airport in southern Saudi Arabia with a Badr-1 ballistic missile in May.

The Saudi military aggression against Yemen over the past three years not only has failed to hurt the newly-born uprising of the Yemeni people but has also inflicted heavy material and human losses on two important members of the coalition – Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Experts believe that every day of war costs Saudi Arabia at least 200 million dollars.

The military expenses of the war has forced Riyadh to borrow from foreign banks for the first time, increase prices of goods and levy taxes on the incomes of foreign workers who are estimated at eight million.

In March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies including the United Arab Emirates launched an aggression on Yemen apparently in a bid to return to power deposed Yemeni president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.
