Shafaqna English– Emergency teams with heavy gear are extracting mud and debris from Nepali towns that were slammed by a flash flood on Wednesday; meanwhile, hopes for survivors are fading and the government is working to avert new floodwaters.
The toll in Nepal rose to 389 by Friday morning, and nearly a thousand others have disappeared in Nepal and neighbouring Tibet, following Wednesday’s glacier collapse that discharged an enormous volume of rock, ice, and silt into the Himalayan rivers.
