Shafaqna English- The chief executive officer of Ford Motor Company informed Reuters on Wednesday(12 Aug 2026) that the American automaker has formulated plans to relocate the production of select Lincoln models from China to the United States, commencing in 2030. He emphasized that although this decision presents considerable challenges, it is deemed essential for reinforcing the domestic automotive manufacturing infrastructure.
Both gasoline-powered and electric vehicles imported from China are subject to substantial customs duties. Ford has confirmed that the tariff imposed by the United States on the Lincoln Nautilus—the company’s primary import from China—stands at 52.5%.
