Shafaqna English– Leigh Curyer, CEO of NexGen Energy, told Reuters in response to a question about a potential equity stake by BHP that the Canadian company is sharing information and holding regular discussions with the mining giant regarding its Rook I project in Saskatchewan.
NexGen broke ground on Thursday to commence construction of what is expected to become one of the world’s largest uranium mines, and aims to raise $1 billion in capital over the next nine months. The company is evaluating financing options that include prepayment agreements with utility companies, debt financing, and direct equity investment in the project.
