EU supports an additional $17.5 million for WFP programs in Afghanistan

Shafaqna English- The European Union is supporting an additional 15 million euros, or about $17.5 million, to the World Food Programme to strengthen food security, climate resilience and livelihoods in Afghanistan, according to the EU and WFP.

The additional funding will extend the partnership for another 12 months and support efforts to address food insecurity, malnutrition, poverty and the effects of climate change.

The program combines locally produced school meals with climate-resilient livelihoods, sustainable management of natural resources and greater private-sector involvement in agribusiness.
