The 29-year-old becomes the sixth arrival at the Catalan club this window, joining Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Rodri, Joao Cancelo, and goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, as speculation continues over Barcelona’s interest in Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez—though Atletico is unwilling to sell to a domestic rival.
Jesus departs Arsenal after four seasons, where he made 123 appearances, scored 32 goals, and featured 27 times in their Premier League-winning campaign last season, though he had fallen behind Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres in the attacking pecking order.
Prior to Arsenal, he spent six years at Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles with 95 goals in 236 appearances, and boasts over 200 Premier League appearances with more than 70 league goals. Arsenal also confirmed the departure of midfielder Fabio Vieira, who has joined German club Hamburg.
