Bullish outlook for India’s auto giant

Shafaqna English- Maruti Suzuki India’s Chairman, R.C. Bhargava, has stated that the company anticipates the domestic passenger vehicle market to expand to a volume of 6.1 to 6.3 million units by the 2030-31 fiscal year.

The projected uptick is largely attributed to a revival in small-car demand and the continued robust growth of the SUV category, both of which are expected to serve as key catalysts for market momentum over the coming years.

In a statement released on Sunday alongside its annual report for the 2025/26 fiscal year, Maruti Suzuki announced that it is currently revising its five-year growth projections.

This reassessment stems from the company’s expectation that the small-car segment will experience a substantially higher rate of growth compared to the previous five-year period, signalling a strategic shift in its long-term planning.
