Shafaqna English– Finlay Tarling, a British rider, tragically lost his life following an accident that took place on the eighth stage of Portugal’s premier cycling event, as announced by his team on Friday(14 Aug 2026).
Tarling, who was just 19 years old, was a Welsh rider known for his expertise in time trial disciplines. He had joined the NSN Development Team in the previous year.
The NSN Development Team announced with profound sadness: “We are heartbroken to report the passing of Finlay Tarling today at the Volta a Portugal. Fin was a much-loved member of our team, and even more importantly, he was a son, a brother, and a friend to many. His absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.”
