Saudi Arabia’s path toward knowledge-based economy

Shafaqna English– Saudi Arabia is using its modern digital systems and its ties with big international tech companies to become a world center for AI investment. It has several advantages that help with this, such as dependable energy supplies, plenty of open land, and a location that connects different parts of the world.

Saudi Arabia’s data center sector has seen remarkable growth. It went from 68 MW in 2021 to over 467 MW by early 2026, thanks to more than SAR56.2 billion in investment. That is more than a sixfold increase since Vision 2030 started. This progress is part of the country’s national AI and data strategy, which is designed to help move the economy away from oil dependence and build a strong foundation for the knowledge economy.
