Shafaqna English– In a joint announcement, Kia Corporation and its South Korean trade union confirmed that they have successfully negotiated a preliminary wage settlement, effectively heading off a series of partial work stoppages that were poised to commence on Wednesday(26 Aug 2026).
The union has announced that the accord, finalized on Tuesday, will be submitted for ratification by its members in a ballot scheduled for this coming Friday. As a direct consequence of the deal, the previously announced work stoppages—set for August 26 through August 28—have been officially called off.
