The firm bases this view largely on Chair Warsh’s latest remarks, which it sees as a clear tilt toward tighter monetary policy.
Speaking at the Federal Reserve’s annual Jackson Hole symposium on Friday, Chair Kevin Warsh delivered what analysts describe as his most explicit hint yet that additional rate increases are on the table. He cautioned that policymakers would still “have work to do” should they lack sufficient confidence that inflation is converging toward the central bank’s 2% objective.
