Shafaqna English- In recent days, as meteorologists have been monitoring Typhoon Dolphin’s approach toward China, a new wave of AI-based weather models has been operating side by side with traditional forecasting tools, underscoring China’s growing role as a major force in the global effort to enhance weather prediction.
Among the AI forecasting models developed in China are Fengwu from the Shanghai AI Laboratory, Huawei’s Pangu, and Fuxi from Fudan University. According to researchers, these systems can produce forecasts much more quickly than traditional models while achieving comparable or even better accuracy in some areas.
