Heavy flooding and storms hit China’s east

Shafaqna English- Heavy rainfall and powerful storms left behind by Typhoon Dolphin have flooded several provinces in eastern China. The coastal region was soaked, and streets in Shanghai were inundated, leading to the cancellation or delay of about 40% of flights on Monday(10 Aug 2026) due to the severe weather conditions.

When Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in Zhejiang province—located to the south and west of Shanghai—on Sunday evening, it had maximum sustained winds of 151 kilometers per hour near its center. After hitting land, the storm weakened and was downgraded to a tropical storm.
