Shafaqna English– BHP Group has announced full-year earnings that surpassed market expectations, alongside its largest annual shareholder payout in four years. This financial performance was largely driven by historically high copper prices, which solidified copper’s position as the company’s primary revenue generator, overtaking iron ore in the process.
Having taken the helm at the world’s biggest listed mining company only last month, CEO Brandon Craig underscored the significance of BHP’s development pipeline. He pointed out that while copper production is expected to dip in the immediate future, the company’s long-term projects could expand output by as much as 40% by 2035.
