Shafaqna English– Gold prices extended their winning streak to a third consecutive trading session on Tuesday(18 Aug 2026), as concerns over a potential U.S. interest rate increase in the coming month continued to subside. Meanwhile, market participants remained focused on the upcoming release of the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting minutes, hoping to gain deeper insights into the central bank’s future monetary policy direction.
Spot gold prices rose 0.2% to $4,424.28 per ounce as of 01:30 GMT, with December-delivery gold futures on U.S. exchanges registering a similar 0.2% uptick to reach $4,480.90. The modest but consistent gains across both spot and futures markets underscored the prevailing investor optimism, fueled by the waning likelihood of an imminent Fed rate hike.
