Shafaqna English– Gold recorded a slight uptick during Wednesday’s(19 Aug 2026) morning trading session in Asia, driven primarily by a pullback in U.S. Treasury yields from their recent elevated levels.
At the same time, investors are turning their attention to the upcoming publication of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting minutes, which could offer fresh clues on the central bank’s rate trajectory.
As of 00:30 GMT, spot gold was trading at $4,342.33 per ounce, reflecting a 0.2% gain from the previous session. This modest rebound comes on the heels of a sharp 2% decline recorded on Tuesday, suggesting that buyers are stepping in to bargain-hunt after the significant drop. In contrast, December-dated U.S. gold futures lagged behind, slipping 0.6% to settle at $4,396.30, indicating a slight divergence between spot and futures markets.
